About Trend Millwork
“It’s not about how far we’ve come but the distance we’ve travelled.”
60 Years of Fine Quality Craftmanship & Heritage
Trend Millwork had not yet been created when William John Muzzatti & his young wife Dorothy began building kitchen cabinets in their very first home back in the early 1950s. Bill Muzzatti Woodcraft began selling custom cabinets to residential builders looking to capitalize on the enormous post-war housing boom.
In less than three years, Muzzatti outgrown his basement shop & wore out his Ford pick-up truck making more deliveries than he could’ve ever imagined. While the pressure of demand honed his craft & business acumen, Bill decided that to simply play it safe was not to play at all & decided to move into a small commercial building, hire some draftsmen & cabinetmakers & commence selling cabinets & woodwork to both commercial & residential customers throughout the area. It wasn’t until 1963 that Muzzatti decided to grow his business with the idea to go completely commercial. Southeast Michigan was growing at a decent pace, but he needed more manufacturing space & a different business model.
In the summer of 1964, Trend Millwork was born & business took flight. Throughout the next five decades, Muzzatti & his Trend Millwork were able to secure high-end commercial work with major general contractors throughout Michigan as well as the midwestern & southern United States.
